Fancy something a little bit different for breakfast? This recipe is wonderful for using overripe bananas and pears that don’t quite get eaten in time and makes an impressive option to serve as brunch when you’ve had overnight guests come to stay.

Banana, Pear and Muesli Breakfast Brownies Recipe
Makes 12 brownies
Approximately 100 calories per brownie
100g natural (no added sugar) muesli – I use Rude Health
120g wholemeal flour
1 heaped teaspoon of baking powder
2 – 3 teaspoons of ground mixed spices
2 tablespoons of honey or agave nectar
1 tablespoon of oil
Mix the dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
Blend the bananas, pears, honey, eggs and oil together until smooth in consistency.
Pour the wet mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients and fold or whisk together thoroughly.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 30 – 40 minutes until brown on top and springy to touch.
This is a new addition to the family recipe book but I can already tell that it is going to be a longstanding favourite. I hope your family enjoy it too.
